What is an MOT?+
The MOT scheme is a road-safety measure designed to ensure eligible cars, motorcycles and light goods vehicles are examined at an authorised MOT test station.
Do I need to stay with my vehicle?+
No. You do not need to be present throughout the test and in many cases you can leave the vehicle and collect it later.
Can I watch an MOT vehicle inspection?+
Yes, provided you do not distract the tester. A customer viewing area is available.
How long does an MOT test take?+
Approximately 50 minutes, although this can vary.
What happens if my vehicle fails?+
You will receive the failure information showing which items caused the vehicle not to pass.
How does an MOT retest work?+
The old Ashford MOT website states a free retest may be available when the vehicle returns within 10 working days. Confirm the current centre policy before launch.
Can I take the test before its due date?+
The old website contains guidance about testing before expiry. This should be checked against current DVSA rules before the live site is published.
I have lost my MOT certificate. Can I get a duplicate?+
Replacement-certificate options and any fees should be confirmed against current DVSA rules before launch.
What payment methods do you accept?+
The old website lists major cards, cash and cheques. The accepted payment methods should be confirmed before launch.
